WE QUIT SUGAR (AND EVERYTHING ELSE!)
I prepared by shopping at Prahran Market with my son Jake, for fresh vegetables and organic grass-fed meats to set us up for the week ahead.
And then we started the daunting task of cleaning out my fridge and pantry to remove all temptation! It’s such a reality check to realise how much of our food is processed or has added sugar.
So what happens when you quit sugar, dairy, wheat, coffee and alcohol? What do you eat?
Turns out most of our favourite foods can be modified to suit a clean pure diet. I made my famous bolognese for my sons and used zucchini noodles instead of pasta.
I also made friends with this gorgeous salad 😉
When you eat this way, you get creative with food super quick and your taste buds get a break from the sugar we ingest. Mine have adjusted to the point where asparagus tastes sweet to me.
I am glad the first 2 weeks are behind me – it can be tough to get going in a detox but once you’re committed everything flows!
I feel clear, strong and all my usual ailments are settling down and not flaring up.
