Myths and Legends:
While GABA is a tea that has surfaced relatively recently, it is far from being considered anything BUT legendary.
But what is GABA tea? They’re leaves that have undergone a specific type of fermentation, allowing greater levels of the amino acid. We like to use GABA, or Gamma Amino Butyric Acid, in some of our blends as it acts to calm the nervous system and increase mental performance.

History:
GABA tea was first created in Japan in 1984. While scientists were trying to improve methods of food preservation, they found fermenting some tea leaves in an oxygen-free environment and exposing it to nitrogen would greatly increase the levels of GABA found.
