Myths and Legends

A beautiful herb with a rich history, lavender has been used for over 2000 years. Egyptians used it in their mummification process and decorative urns were found in the pyramids with residues of lavender still inside. They perfumed their skin with Lavender and Cleopatra is said to have used lavender on her skin as a seduction method.

History

Early literature paints lavender as a herbal healing plant, a sedative, a treatment for migraines and an antiseptic.
While it is native to the Mediterranean, and the Arabs were the very first to farm lavender and the Egyptians used it in their mummification process. Decorative urns are regularly found in crypts with residues of lavender still inside.
