HOW TO PREP FOR A TEATOX AND NOT FAIL
THIS MONTH AT RAW ESSENTIALS TEA THE WHOLE FAMILY ARE TAKING ON THE VERY FIRST TEA DETOX CHALLENGE FOR THE YEAR!
This month at Raw Essentials Tea, the whole family is taking on the very first tea detox challenge for the year! You can learn more about the challenge and how to participate by clicking here.
Along with my son Jake, we are taking on a 28 day teatox by following our Detox Diet Protocols which means cutting out alcohol, coffee, sugar, fructose, wheat, gluten, soy, nuts, grains and dairy for the next 28 days. Oh my god – quite the challenge.
We went to Melbourne’s historic Prahran Marketto ensure the first week of the challenge goes off without a hitch.
One of the most important things when taking on a lifestyle change or detox program is to be prepared to make sure old habits don’t creep in when we’re busy or tired. We spent Sunday at the market stocking up on fresh vegetables and organic meats.
All of our vegetables came from Pino’s Fine Produce. So many greens! We got lots of zucchini, Brussel sprouts, lemons, tomato, garlic, cabbage, broccoli, lettuce, fennel, avocados, capsicum and red onions just to name a few.
Pino’s do $10 veggies boxes each Sunday from 10am – you grab a box and fill it up with whatever is available. It truly kills the myth that eating healthy is expensive!
We then popped into Ripe Organics for everything else – like our coconut oil, which we use for cooking and apple cider vinegar (perfect for salads!).
We then headed to Hagen’s Organic Butcher. They have an incredible range of grass-fed and grass-finished meats and the Prahran shop has a variety of specials on the weekend. We got some beautiful steak and lamb – and that concluded our trip!
Who said prepping for a healthy week has to be an ardous process? Not me!
Tips:
- Stock up and freeze lamb chops in portions to make sure you’re never caught out
- Swap your cooking oil for coconut oil
- Replace your table or rock salt with unbleached pink himalayan salt
- Put your greens in tupperware containers lined with paper towel to keep them fresh for much longer
Stay tuned for our next blog where I clean out my fridge and pantry of all the nasties and to remove all temptation.
Out of sight out of mind!
